Diego Valencia Breaks Silence and Addresses Possible Return to UC
In a recent interview, 24-year-old forward Diego Valencia was questioned about his upcoming season and the possibility of returning to Universidad Católica. The club is already working on reinforcements for the second round, with the first being the return of Valber Huerta after two and a half years away. Huerta, a former champion with UC, is set to make a comeback to the team.
However, Valencia’s name has also been circulating in discussions about potential returns to the club. Despite initial speculations, the forward clarified his career plans and intentions to return. In a conversation with Cruzados, Valencia expressed his ongoing interest in the club’s progress. He mentioned following their matches whenever possible and maintaining connections with current players.
While Valencia expressed a desire to return to defend the UC colors in the future, his immediate focus remains on securing a spot in Europe. Currently on loan at Atromitos, he is set to return to Salernitana, his parent club, where he is under contract until mid-2026. After his vacation, Valencia will resume training with Salernitana, who were relegated last season. If a move from the club is on the cards, potential options in the Serie B of Italy or a switch to Spain are being considered.
As Valencia navigates his career path, fans eagerly anticipate his potential return to Universidad Católica, where he aims to reunite with the team he holds close to his heart.
