Valencia de Don Juan is hosting a new edition of the Medieval Market this weekend, on July 5, 6, and 7. This successful event is celebrating its thirteenth edition and will feature exciting activities. The great knights tournament and the nighttime show “The Betrayal of the Acuña” will be two of the highlights of the program that starts on Friday.

With the Medieval spirit in the air, Coyanza will enjoy one of its first major summer events this weekend. The market will open at 7:00 pm, followed by the inaugural proclamation at 7:30 pm. The first day of the Medieval Market will include face painting and various children’s workshops that will be repeated throughout the weekend. There will also be a falconry show, one of the four scheduled for the weekend. At night, at 10:30 pm, there will be a fire show.

Saturday will be a bustling day. In addition to the market activities with dozens of artisans and merchants, there will be a musical parade by the Upsala group offering several performances throughout the day. Falconry will return in the morning, along with archery. In the afternoon, the highlight will be the great knights tournament in the castle courtyard at 8:00 pm. There is also a scheduled oriental dance show by the Yemaya group at 9:30 pm. At night, the fire and pyrotechnic show will surprise the audience in the castle conquest recreation in the show “The Betrayal of the Acuña.”

On Sunday, visitors can once again enjoy the incredible flights of the birds of prey and archery. The Blue Lady will wander through the Medieval Market and its surroundings during the Sunday event. There will also be an oriental parade and plenty of street entertainment. Children can enjoy the planned activities for them. A musical gathering, an oriental dance workshop, and a grand falconry show will conclude the agenda that will transport Coyanza back to the Medieval times.

Additionally, one of the most successful summer programs will return on Sunday. The Elderly Dance group will set the rhythm in the afternoon on the first Sunday of dance. Every summer Sunday, there is a dance event at 8:00 pm in the Garden of the Ducks.
