JetSmart Airlines, the low-cost airline that has been operating for seven years and has a presence in eight South American countries, announced the launch of new domestic routes in Colombia. The airline, owned by the American investment fund Indigo Partners, stated that it will start daily and direct flights from Cali to Santa Marta and Medellín, offering passengers a non-stop air experience with the promise of bringing greater connectivity and travel opportunities for all Colombians. The addition of these new routes at the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Palmira “significantly improves flight options in Colombia and strengthens air connectivity in the region,” they explained in the announcement. The airline will offer seven weekly flights between Cali and Santa Marta, as well as 14 weekly flights between Cali and Medellín. The eight national destinations where the airline has a presence, Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, Pereira, Cali, Santa Marta, Cúcuta, and soon San Andrés, “will boost the country’s air connectivity thanks to the expansion of JetSmart Airlines’ route network,” they noted.
