Emanuel Buchmann’s Bad Luck: Collarbone and Hip Fractures in Switzerland

Emanuel Buchmann’s streak of bad luck seems to have no end. The Bora-hansgrohe rider has suffered two fractures after falling in the second stage of the Tour de Suisse: one in the collarbone and the other, more concerning, in the hip.

Emanuel Buchmann is facing a unquestionable personal stress situation, after it was announced that he will not renew with Bora-hansgrohe and must look for another team for 2025. The German champion had been seen in great shape and eager to prove himself, but he won’t be able to show his form after falling and suffering two fractures. Both injuries will require surgery: “These are definitely not the news we were expecting. The tests have revealed a collarbone and hip fracture. He will have to be operated on for both injuries. We wish Emu the best and a speedy recovery!” the team commented.

The collarbone injury should not keep him out of competitions for more than two or three weeks, but the hip fracture could have a much slower recovery timeline, a major blow for Buchmann.

As Buchmann faces this setback, he will need all the support and encouragement from his fans and the cycling community. The road to recovery will be challenging, but with determination and perseverance, he can come back stronger than ever. We hope to see him back on the saddle soon, doing what he loves and excels at – racing.
