León is ‘stealing’ Ettson Ayón, a jewel from Querétaro and the Toulon Tri
The Mexican forward, 23-year-old Ettson Ayón, has reached an agreement to join Club León starting from the Apertura 2024. The national team player will join the team after returning from his participation in the Maurice Revello Tournament with the U-23 Tri. According to information from Fox Sports reporter Francisco Montes, Ettson Ayón only needs to sign the contract, which he will do as soon as he returns to Mexico after his activities in the Toulon tournament, where he scored a goal against the host France in the first match of the tournament.
León acquired 60% of Ettson Ayón’s rights in a deal close to three million dollars, although the duration of the contract is still unknown. Who is Ettson Ayón, the upcoming reinforcement for Club León? The forward, born in Tijuana, Baja California, developed in the Xolos youth academy, where he played for five years from 2017, before joining Querétaro’s first team in the Apertura 2022. He has played 46 Liga MX matches and scored eight goals.
As a U-23 national team player, in addition to competing in the Maurice Revello Tournament, where he has played all four matches for the national team and hopes to at least secure fifth place in this year’s event, he also participated in the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023, where he won the bronze medal last November. Meanwhile, with the senior national team coached by Jaime Lozano, Ettson Ayón made his debut on May 31 in a friendly match against Bolivia, where he played 77 minutes at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.
Ettson Ayón’s journey with the national teams began in 2019 when he worked with the U-18 team. He also received call-ups to the U-21 team coached by Raúl Chabrand in 2021.
