Licitan pantallas acústicas en autovías de Lorca, Cartagena y Murcia

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has tendered for 3.7 million euros (including VAT) for the construction of the Action Plan against Noise (PAR) in Phase II in the Region of Murcia, with the installation of over 1.2 kilometers of sound barriers on various sections of the A-7, CT-33, and MU-30 highways as they pass through Lorca, Cartagena, El Palmar, and Murcia. These actions aim to reduce noise levels from these highways to benefit the affected population, as reported by Ministry sources in a statement.

The projected sound barriers are located in areas where noise corrective measures are needed due to the presence of sensitive areas such as healthcare facilities, educational institutions, or residential areas. In terms of the characteristics of the projected barriers, on the A-7S Highway (Between km 639 and 640.400), the first step is to install a metal sound barrier in the median of the highway with a length of 291 meters and a height of 2.5 meters. Secondly, a metal sound barrier will be installed on the left side of the highway with a total length of 88 meters and a height of 3 meters; and thirdly, metal sound barriers will be installed on the left side of the highway with a total length of 104.5 meters and a height of 3 meters.

On the A-7S Highway (between km 569.500 and 572), the first step is to install a metal sound barrier on the left side of the highway with a total length of 112 meters and a height of 2 meters; and secondly, a metal sound barrier will be installed on the left side of the highway with a length of 259.5 meters and a height of 3 meters. In the case of the CT-33 Highway (between km 1 and 2), a metal sound barrier will be installed on the right side of the highway with a total length of 123.5 meters and a height of 3 meters. And on the MU-30 highway (between km 7.500 and 9.500), the first step is to install a metal sound barrier on the right side of the highway with a length of 298 meters and a height of 4.5 meters.

The projected sound barriers will be metallic and composed of panels of 0.50 meters in height made of galvanized steel or multiperforated aluminum on the side facing the noise source, with a thickness of 103 millimeters and filled with a composite material of rock wool with a mineral sound-absorbing veil. In the case of median sound barriers, both sides of the barrier must be perforated to absorb noise from both roadways as it is exposed to noise sources on both sides.

These actions, whose tender announcement will be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) soon, are part of the Action Plan against Noise (Phase 2 PAR) and serve to comply with the provisions of Directive 2002/49/EC of June 25, of the European Parliament and of the Council, on the assessment and management of environmental noise. These works are included in the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU, under the sustainability, energy efficiency, and noise action chapter.
