Andoain will host the 16th edition of the Andoaingo Rock Jaialdia this Saturday, a rock festival that will offer a total of nine free concerts throughout the day in various locations in the municipality. The lineup includes young and emerging bands from the local and international scene as well as DJ sessions.
The festival, organized by Bloody Mary, has curated a lineup with nine bands and musicians from the UK, the Netherlands, France, Euskadi, and Navarra. Headliners include Goat Girl, The Bug Club, and Tramhaus, along with Howlin’ Jaws, Amorante, Pinpilinpussies, Ithaka, Indabe, and Munlet plays Devo.
The event will kick off at noon with the “Aperitif” program featuring performances by Indabe, Amorante, and Munlet at different locations in the municipality. These performances will showcase pop-rock, local electronic music, and experimental rock sounds.
Later in the afternoon, all the concerts will take place at Plaza Nafarroa, starting at 6:00 pm with a performance by the young Guipuzcoan quartet Ithaka. Following them, the Vasco-Catalan duo Pinpilinpussies will bring their Lo-Fi sound with elements of Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, and Courtney Barnett.
The lineup also includes the French psychedelic garage trio Howlin’ Jaws, known for their rock’n’roll sound reminiscent of the 60s. They will be followed by the Welsh trio The Bug Club, who recently signed with Sub Pop and have been touring Europe with their power-pop melodies and rock guitars.
The headliners of the festival, the British band Goat Girl, will take the stage at 11:15 pm to present their third album, “Below the Waste.” The album combines various genres like noise-rock, pop-rock, experimental folk, and post-punk.
Closing the event at 12:40 am will be the Dutch band Tramhaus, known for their post-punk sound and socially conscious lyrics. Their debut album, “The First Exit,” has garnered attention in European festivals and drawn comparisons to bands like IDLES and Viagra Boys.
The Andoaingo Rock Jaialdia promises to be a day filled with diverse musical performances, ranging from pop-rock to experimental sounds, providing attendees with a unique and exciting musical experience.
