Train Delays on R4 Line After Pedestrian Accident in El Papiol
Today, on Thursday, June 13, 2024, there are disruptions in transportation in Barcelona and the surrounding metropolitan area. Let’s take a look at the traffic and public transportation situation.
Train Incident in Rodalies
Train services on the R4 line of Rodalies between Molins de Rei and Castellbisbal have been interrupted due to a pedestrian accident in El Papiol. The incident occurred just before seven in the morning. After over an hour of suspension, trains have started to gradually resume their normal schedule, but delays are still expected.
Additionally, on the R4 line, there is no train service between Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Vicenç de Calders on weekdays from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm due to construction work on the Adif Mediterranean Corridor. An alternative bus service is available.
Infrastructure work by Adif has also led to the suspension of the last three trains of the day on the R2 Sud line between Castelldefels and Vilanova i la Geltrú, except on Fridays.
Furthermore, the R3, R4, R7, and R12 lines are still affected by the copper cable theft that occurred on May 12. The current services are as follows:
– R4: Train service on the southern R4 line up to L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Passengers can continue their journey to the northern R4 line by changing trains at L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. On the other part of the line, in the northern R4 line, trains run between Manresa and L’Hospitalet. Travelers can continue their journey to the southern R4 line by changing trains at L’Hospitalet.
– R3: Train service between Puigcerdà and Montcada Ripollet. Two trains operate per hour in each direction. From Montcada Ripollet, there is an alternative road service to Fabra i Puig.
– R7: Passengers travel to Cerdanyola with R4 and take buses from Cerdanyola to UAB. There is also the option of Bus Exprés 3.
– R12: Train service between Lleida and Manresa, where it connects with the R4 service.
Traffic on the Ring Roads
Regarding traffic conditions in Barcelona, the Ronda Litoral (B-10) and the Ronda de Dalt (B-20) are experiencing usual congestion, with more significant delays on the Ronda De Dalt towards Llobregat.
