Yesterday was a very special afternoon for our Málaga Dragon Boat rowing team. They participated with great enthusiasm and determination in the II National Regatta #BCS BancoFijo-Llaut, held at the Real Club El Candado.
In an event full of excitement and competitiveness, our athletes competed in four races over three intense hours. Their effort and dedication led them to qualify for the two finals of the tournament, achieving a commendable fourth place nationally and a prominent second place in the “City of Málaga” Challenge.
A special recognition to our coach, helmsman, crew, and all the supporters, whose unconditional support was crucial in achieving these accomplishments. A perfect score for all of them!
Congratulations to the winners of the Real Club de Remo de Alicante, who showed great skill and took first place.
It is worth noting that the BCS Championship at El Candado was held yesterday, moving forward due to the expected bad weather for today.
The Málaga Dragon Boat team is a sports association made up of women from Málaga who have suffered or are suffering from breast cancer. Our main activity is to promote and facilitate the practice of Dragon Boat, a discipline that not only promotes regular physical exercise outdoors and in contact with the sea but also strengthens the team spirit. This practice significantly contributes to increasing muscle strength, improving physical fitness, and overall well-being, being especially beneficial for the prevention and improvement of lymphedema, a sequel of breast cancer, as numerous medical studies have shown.
We are very proud of our rowers and all that they represent. Congratulations to all of them for their fighting spirit and incredible achievements!
In addition to the success of our team at the II National Regatta, it is important to highlight the positive impact that sports and physical activity can have on individuals, especially those facing health challenges like breast cancer. Engaging in activities like Dragon Boat not only provides physical benefits but also supports mental and emotional well-being.
By participating in events like the regatta, our team members are not only showcasing their athletic abilities but also inspiring others facing similar challenges to stay active and maintain a positive outlook. The camaraderie and teamwork displayed by the Málaga Dragon Boat team serve as a powerful example of how sports can bring people together and create a supportive community.
As we celebrate the achievements of our rowers, let us also recognize the importance of sports in promoting health, resilience, and unity. The dedication and passion shown by the Málaga Dragon Boat team serve as a reminder of the positive impact that sports can have on individuals and communities alike. We look forward to seeing more success and inspiration from this remarkable team in the future.
