Season of Concerts at Estadi Olímpic Kicks Off in Barcelona

We are already on the cusp of summer, which marks the beginning of the concert season. The Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys, not only the current football stadium where Barça plays, but also one of the largest and most popular concert venues in the Catalan capital. This June, the stadium kicks off its concert season, aiming to attract over 200,000 attendees. Between 2023 and 2024, the Estadi Olímpic hosted four out of the top five highest-grossing tours in Spain. According to Pollstar, the tours that have raised the most money and have also performed at the Estadi Olímpic include Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Harry Styles.

A summer season full of milestones

This concert season anticipates the arrival of legendary music stars at the Estadi, as well as breaking historical records for the venue. To start, the famous German industrial metal band, Rammstein, will kick off the season on Tuesday, June 11. Additionally, Bruce Springsteen will set a historic record for the venue, becoming the artist who has performed the most times on its stage. With the double concert scheduled for June 20 and 22, Springsteen will have performed a total of eight times on the Olympic stage. Another highly anticipated concert of the season is the musical duo Estopa. With this concert, they will kick off their long-awaited national tour where they will present their new album, Estopía. The concert will take place on July 10, although unfortunately, tickets are already sold out.

Embrace public transportation

Coinciding with the start of the concert season at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the organization managing the Olympic Ring has decided to expand the campaign to promote sustainable mobility. Under the slogan “The Estadi Olímpic is very close; Choose the most sustainable way to get there,” they aim to encourage the use of public transportation to reach the facilities located on Montjuïc mountain. Regarding mobility from Plaza España, the bus line 150 has been reinforced for the summer, ending its route at the top of Montjuïc Castle. Additionally, on concert days at the Estadi Olímpic, a special TMB bus service will be available for the descent to Plaza España. Furthermore, on concert days, the operating hours of the escalators at Montjuïc Park will also be extended.
