The needs of Celta and the existing overbooking in the squad indicate that we are facing the busiest Celta market in recent years, especially in terms of departures, where the Vigo team needs to make a minimum of 15 exits. However, two weeks before the team returns to work, movements are completely blocked and there has been no official announcement yet. The departure of Paciencia and the termination of Lautaro are the most advanced operations, but so far there has been no final resolution in either case. Another name that is on everyone’s lips is that of Manu Sánchez, for whom Betis and Osasuna are interested and negotiations are already underway. Almost the entire Celta squad is up for sale, but so far the Vigo club has not been able to offload any player.
The football director, Marco Garcés, is being put to the test in this summer market with a very complicated mission, which is to offload 15-20 players and sign half a dozen players to raise the level of the squad. The ideal scenario envisioned the start of preseason with some work already done, but so far no operation has been closed. Next week will be very important in this regard because everything done before June 30 will count towards the new season’s salary cap limit, a key point also to know the budget to manage.
If the movement in departures is scarce, it is even more so in arrivals. To date, the only movements that have been made are inquiries with Iker Losada and Borja Iglesias. The addition of the attacking midfielder from Racing de Ferrol seems much easier in terms of budget (clause of 1.8 and more affordable salary). There have been contacts between the teams, although so far there has been no firm proposal to the player.
