Smart City Expo Argentina 2021: Driving Urban Innovation
Smart City Expo Santiago del Estero (SCESDE) is celebrating its third edition in the northern city of Argentina under the theme ‘Territories that innovate, communities that transform’. The event aims to promote the transformation of Latin American cities into intelligent, productive, and sustainable hubs. Organized by Fira de Barcelona, the event will bring together over 90 speakers and more than 150 companies and institutions.
Taking place at the Fórum Santiago del Estero, SCESDE will feature a congress with over thirty sessions focusing on three main themes: Economy 4.0, Sustainable Territories, and Intelligent Governments. This event, organized by the Government of the Province of Santiago del Estero, aims to be a meeting point for local and international administrations, civil society, institutions, and companies to facilitate the exchange and debate on the future of urban development in Latin America.
The congress will feature renowned speakers such as Matteo Salvatto, Juan Corvalán from the University of Buenos Aires, Maya Takagi from the FAO, Fabricio Ballarini from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires, Alejandra Leguizamón from Mamá Emprende, and Carlos Moreno from IAE Paris-Sorbonne, among others.
In addition to the congress, attendees can explore an exhibition area showcasing over 150 companies and institutions presenting cutting-edge solutions to accelerate sustainable urban transformation. Companies like Amazon Web Services, Toyota, Renault, NEC, ARSAT, Aeropuertos Argentina, and Aerolíneas Argentinas will be among the exhibitors.
To complement the main program, SCESDE will offer a series of parallel activities, including workshops, interactive proposals, and practical sessions designed to address the most pressing challenges discussed during the congress. One highlight is the demonstration of one of the robots finalists of the World Robotics Olympiad, an educational robotics competition with an environmental focus to be held in Singapore next year.
Smart City Expo Santiago del Estero is part of Fira de Barcelona’s international strategy, which includes organizing fourteen events worldwide this year to contribute to the internationalization of companies and extend their organizational experience. Smart City Expo World Congress, held annually in Fira de Barcelona, is the leading international event on smart cities with local editions in various countries.
In addition to Santiago del Estero, Smart City Expo World Congress will also take place in Riad (Saudi Arabia), Curitiba (Brazil), New York (USA), Mérida (Mexico), Santiago de Chile (Chile), Bogotá (Colombia), and Doha (Qatar) this year.
